Macbook Air on OSX 10.9 sleeps when nosleep checked

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect external monitor
2. Install NoSleep
3. Make sure never sleep activated for AC and Battery
4. Close lid with AC disconnected

Expected external display to flash, then stay on.

In fact, external display flashes, stays on for about 15 seconds, then machine 
sleeps (blank display, no power from machine to display USB hub).

What version of the product are you using? 1.3.3

On what operating system? OSX 10.9 will all current updates

Energy Saver settings have display powering off after 2 minutes on battery 
power.

Attached dmesg after cycle above, then opening lid.
