License issue in okio-assetfilesystem/src/androidTest/assets/moby10b.txt
Hi, using okio I've been performing a license scan and noted an issue in okio-assetfilesystem/src/androidTest/assets/moby10b.txt. The test asset has a small print segment stating
You may distribute copies of this etext electronically, or by disk, book or any other medium if you either delete this "Small Print!" and all other references to Project Gutenberg, or: [...] [3] Pay a trademark license fee to the Project of 20% of the net profits you derive calculated using the method you already use to calculate your applicable taxes. If you don't derive profits, no royalty is due. Royalties are payable to "Project Gutenberg Association/Carnegie-Mellon University" within the 60 days following each date you prepare (or were legally required to prepare) your annual (or equivalent periodic) tax return.
The way I see it, integrating okio in a product while having this test asset included puts users in a legal grey zone at the very least when producing applications that have a monetary return. The alternative would be to remove references to Project Gutenberg manually.
Could the asset be replaced?
This file is for our tests and is not distributed so I don't see what gray zone there is. Seems like we can just delete that disclaimer though.
From my point of view that should solve the issue, yes. Should I hand in a PR myself?
That would be great!
Alright, will do so tomorrow.
Just keeping this open to track
