I prepared some screenshots, which shows where the guide is (green dashed line) and where I expected it (red line):

For example how should it work (in my opinion), please check how work BracketHighlighter for Sublime Text. I've tested it on VS Ccode 1.16.0 & Mac OS.

Probably yes, but the setting guides.active.expandBrackets doesn't work for me (I have it on true, but still this same effect which I describe in first post)

As this doesn't make Guides stop working, I'll leave it as an enhancement. I'll let you know once I got the update published.

Due to the way extension is structured right now, I'll move this issue to the upcoming release instead. I'll keep this issue up to date once the progress has been made.

Default VSCode's guidelines doesn't highlight active tag.
