All Preferences Reset for no reason.

Problem Description

I started Spyder v6.0.0a4 from the console as usual after an unwanted Windows Update (that I had to uninstall anyway).
All of my settings have been reset.

What steps reproduce the problem?

1. I don't know what reset Spyder preferences, but it wasn't me.
2. Start Spyder from console
3. Notice preferences have been reset.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expected my preferences (which take many, many minutes to setup with the preferences menu panel) to be saved and used whenever I start Spyder.
