Cant open ipynb files in hidden folders/folders starting with period in name

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Cant open files .ipynb from folders starting with period ex ".spyder" or hidden files
2. Even if i save a new .ipynb file inside a folder starting with period i will end up getting file does not exist

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? older Spyder version can access hidden folder/file/ names with period at the start
