Purpose of options button

At the moment, the button in the top right doesn't seem to do anything (and looking at the code, it's not connected to any callback function). Can it be removed?

Hi @astrofrog, yes, the idea of that button if when it is used as a plugin within spyder to handle "advanced" things, but for standalone usage it is indeed a bit useless :-)
