Battery not discharging to cover household load

Open tractor137 opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug When status is idle the battery doesn't seem to supply the household load.

Expected behavior At idle when a high load in the household is present this energy should come from the battery. Instead the battery remains at 100% and imports from the grid. In the screenshots there is a spike at 0700-0730 where my second car (non intelligent one) preheats itself. I would expect this to come from the battery but as it can be seen from HA energy page and givenergy dashboard it is importing from the grid.

Predbat version 8.4.9

Environment details

GE hybrid inv 5kW V1, 9.5 kWh battery

This doesn't immediately look like a Predbat bug and the logfile doesn't show any errors that I spotted

Firstly check your givtcp logs to check that it is talking to your inverter and the inverter is receiving and accepting the commands. Occasional errors are OK because Predbat will retry them but a series of errors indicates either a wifi, inverter or givtcp problem. Check on the HA logbook that you see a regular stream of updated givtcp_ sensors being updated such as the time last updated. Then try resetting the inverter to defaults in the givenergy portal as it may be that the inverter is just not talking to givtcp any more
