[spring tools 5] update launcher name and layout upgrade path
For the 5.0.0 release, we will ask users to start with a fresh installation and we should probably disable any automatic upgrade paths.
This will include changing the launcher name for the Eclipse-based distribution and maybe change the branding feature IDs as well - but that has to be discussed.
I also tend to switch the version of the language server piece to the same than the major Spring Tools version to have the same version across the place - which also remains to be discussed.
If I can help, pls let me know I work with 2 OS, Windows 10/11 and Linux Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu
@manueljordan If you would still be up for it, it would be awesome if you could give the latest nightly downloads from https://cdn.spring.io/spring-tools/snapshot/nightly-distributions.html a try to see if all the little branding updates made their way through for the Windows and Linux builds... :-)
The earlier we catch issues for the Spring Tools 5 release (coming up in November), the more time we have to fix them.
@martinlippert thanks for the mention

Just to be in the same channel
Is there a set of projects to be tested? I mean for example 5 projects and if any of them fails then you should be able to replicate by your side too because we have the same IDE and project(s) ... if they do not exist I think it would be a precedence to define them, it for testing for future releases of the IDE

Sounds great, we have a friendly schedule
