It would also be nice to get some remote visibility of errors (e.g. stack trace of latest error).

Dave, we'll probably need to reassign this issue and possibly push it to 2.2, but can you provide a little bit more detail about what you had in mind?

It's not clear what this means - message history is message-based whereas existing JMX is SI component (static) based.

Based on the description, maybe subscribe a bucket to the errorChannel to accumulate recent errors?

Moving to 4.0.
