Chrome browser completely crashes when playing back MIDI file on the site.
https://github.com/spotify/basic-pitch/issues/
Describe the bug After I upload my MP3 file and convert it into MIDI, I am able to download it just fine. However, when I attempt to play back the MIDI file on the site, it plays the first several notes, then it suddenly stalls, and the browser abruptly crashes and everything disappears. It has happened two or three times now. (I already rebooted my PC and cleaned the memory.)
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Go to https://basicpitch.spotify.com/
- Click on the big rectangular icon that says "Drop your audio file here or click to select one (.wav, .mp3, etc.)".
- Upload the audio file, and make the conversion to MIDI.
- Press ▶️ to play back the MIDI file.
- It plays the first several notes - then stalls, then the whole Chrome browser crashes.
Expected behavior I expected it to simply play back the whole MIDI file, without crashing.
Screenshots I can't really screenshot it, because when I recreate the issue, the browser just disappears.
Desktop
- OS: Windows 11
- Browser: Chrome
- Version: "Chrome is up to date" Version 128.0.6613.85 (Official Build) (32-bit)
Smartphone N/A
Additional context I just saw (above) that the Chrome I am using is 32-bit (I am supposed to be using 64-bit, so I don't know how this happened). Could this be causing a problem? I just tried to install the 64-bit Chrome, but it is refusing, because I am "already up-to-date"!
Same for me on Firefox! Crashes, freezes, irresponsive, almost needs reboot.
