Looks like Chisels & Bits has the same problem with Optifine: https://github.com/ChiselsAndBits/Chisels-and-Bits/issues/690

C&B works with optifine HD_U_G7 (which is NOT the latest version). Hopefully sodium can be made compatible with chisel n bits
