[Request] add android reboot to main projectivity menu
90% of the time, when i am using the projectivity menu to go into the 'android settings', it is to reboot the machine. It would be nice to have the reboot function in the main projectivity menue.
Thanks. I am loving projectivity.
Hi, I would have done it already it that was possible, but unfortunately, apps don't have sufficient privileges to shutdown or reboot devices. The only workaround is that the accessibility service can request the power off popup to open. But :
- this is only working when Projectivy's accessibility service is running
- even then, triggering the power off menu will not let me choose anything there : either I can trigger this menu another time and it will shutdown the device (as it would when you double press the remote control "power off" button on some devices), or I can let the countdown do it (but some devices don't trigger a countdown when opening the shutdown screen)
- reboot is not the default option when you open the power off menu, so that would not fit your needs.
Other possibilities to reboot/shutdown are :
- on rooted devices (but most Android Tv devices can't be rooted easily)
- thanks to an ADB internal connection but this would probably not please Google and I would risk a ban on Google Play for trying to workaround their "security" measures.
So as of now, the only thing I could do is a "trigger power off menu" feature that would only be available when the accessibility services is running.
Hey thanks for the quick reply! Glad to hear you had already thoguht of it. That's a shame it won't work, but no worries. Its a pretty small thing.

You should try out TV Quick Actions. I use it for example to create a launcher channel with shortcuts to quickly reboot / start stock launcher on my gtv streamer. 😁 The App is very useful and in combination with projectify launcher awesome.
