[Package Update] Preserved Older Versions getting Huge beause Cache is Included
I recently discovered that the <hash>.preserved.0.zip files for older versions of Gallery in the packages directory are getting gigantic (several GB, yes, a site with a lot of images...), so I wondered why...
It wasn't long until I discovered, that the package manager would just backup/preserve the assets/components/gallery folder, which includes the cache folder, which can get quite large in size...
I think this folder should be moved elsewhere for that reason or at least an installation option should be provided that makes the user aware of this (e.g. tell user to change cache path on installation because of that...). Maybe there is also an option in the transport manager to ignore certain folders when updating?
It actually goes so far, that the installation fails with MySQL server has gone away ... errors because the zipping of the cache folder takes so much time due to the size, just moving the cache folder one level up for the time of update/installation solves the issue.
