Default a yesno to checked

Is there a way to default a yesno field to be checked? And for a fieldset that depends on it to automatically be open at the start of filling in the form if this is the case?

I'd like to provide some default sections, but they're not required, so the user could uncheck the yesno to hide the fieldset section.
