Feature Request/Bug: “Save as default splitting options” isn’t persisted at group level
I’m not sure if this is a bug or an intentional limitation, but when I tick the “Save as default splitting options” checkbox, the choice is only stored in the session (cookie) and per user. As soon as the cookie expires or I switch devices, it’s gone.
Expected behavior: Checking “Save as default splitting options” should set a permanent default for the entire group, so everyone gets the same splitting rules without having to reapply them individually.
Actual behavior: The setting is only saved for the current user and only while the session cookie lasts.
Use case: Our group wants children to be counted at 50% by default when splitting meal costs. Right now we all have to re-check that option every time, which is tedious and error-prone.
Steps to reproduce:
- Join a group.
- Open splitting options and check “Save as default splitting options.”
- Delete all cookies or log in from another device.
- Observe that the checkbox is unchecked again.
— Is this intended behavior, or could we get a persistent, group-wide default?
