Support for zig-0.13 and forthcoming zig-0.14

Open slonik-az opened this issue 11 months ago • 7 comments

The README file states that the ziggy-pydust supports zig-0.11 which is, as of this writing, two releases behind the current stable release (zig-0.13) and will fall even further behind when zig-0.14 is released next month. All the recent commits to ziggy-pydust are from the renovate[bot] rather than human contributors.

Are there any plans to develop this project any further?

Hi @slonik-az, I'm afraid not. We're actively looking for potential maintainers. It's worth noting that the current design leverages features of comptime that are no longer supported >0.12.0 and so would need a non-trivial update to fix.

Hi @gatesn, I would also like to have a look into this. I have the same question as @mlaass

I think first steps would be for us to engage on some proposals for how to bring the project up to date with latest Zig and begin to see movement in that direction to ensure the best future the project

I think first steps would be for us to engage on some proposals ...

@gatesn Would it be possible to enable Github Discussions in this repo?
