Just a quick update - it looks like @wagoodman has pulled in the configuration cataloger work under joint issue #1039 with the PR via #1038.
https://github.com/anchore/syft/pull/964 was merged recently getting us a bit closer on this issue, but I can't confirm if it's lossless at this point.
