Watchtower protocol support?

Is it possible that the server-side parts of electrum's watchtower protocol could be added to electrumx? Here's my particular setup:

  • Home linux server running 24/7 with electrumx
  • Home windows desktop running whenever with electrum-qt and the full wallet, connecting to the server

It would be nice to not have to run a second program on my server to get watchtower support.

as a matter of fact, the watchtower is a sort of electrum client, not an electrum server

Watchtower support is already added into Electrum client. This is not an electrumx issue.

@smmalis37 I think you are right, it makes sense to have the watchtower in electrumx. this will be part of a larger change, please see https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/6778
