legacy wallet electrum
Description
I have satoshis addressed to a legacy account starting with the number 1. The 12 seed phrases were generated by electrum a few years ago. The current electrum wallet works in segwit mode. I can't have possession of my satoshis in the segwit wallet, because I need a legacy wallet that recognizes my 12 seed phrases. Otherwise, my satoshis will remain forever in the blockchain. Chatgpt helped me a lot, but I couldn't change the segwit wallet to legacy through the console. Could you update the electrum wallet so that the user can choose to generate the wallet exclusively in legacy mode?
Kind regards,
Bit739.
legacy seeds are supported. if your seed is not recognized, it is because there is a mistake in it.
The funny thing is that I kept my old wallet number 1NzCukSH... pinned to my computer for a few years. When I was able to deposit money from a brokerage, my updated Elecrum wallet electrum-4.5.8-x86_64.AppImage didn't work. I thought the 12 words were tied to my Bitcoin address forever. I didn't imagine that I would have to create a new Electrum wallet for my Satoshis to be recognized. Is there any way to recover my Satoshis?

I also noticed that the new Electrum wallet only offers the sigwit possibility, not legacy, but if this is done automatically, I understand that the twelve words from before were not valid.
Is there a console command to transform my Segwit wallet into Legacy exclusively, transitioning to generating numbers starting with "1"?
Is there any way to recover my Satoshis from the Blockchain through my old Legacy address, using my old 12 seed words that were generated by my old Electrum wallet? Or should I consider my Satoshis as lost forever?

Hello Violetadhdgd,
He said that legacy is supported on electrumHe also said: if your seed is not recognized, it is because there is a mistake in it.
I ask, how can there be an error in my seed, if I selected and copied its contents into a text file? I have kept this week for years on my Linux Desktop...
I simply don't trust free wallets anymore. I prefer to leave the money in the brokerage.

In my opinion, some free wallets have their "own plans" for the Bitcoins they hold.
The proof of this... I have my custody address, I have the wallet, I have the seed... but... I can't access my Satoshis with my Electrum wallet.
From one version to another, my Electrum simply stopped recognizing my seed. It's more than strange... it's a false charity of the project, obviously... for personal purposes... don't worry. I'm already doing my personal advertising of Electrum to opinion makers about BTCs and Linux and wallets.
Thanks... Wait...

You should download old versions of Electrum and try to restore from your seed there. Then compare the addresses derived by the old versions and the new version. They should be the same. If they are not, please specify which specific version of Electrum generates different addresses, and then we will reopen and investigate further.
