Hello! Firstly, thanks very much to spencer and contributors for working so hard on v7 - very exciting new API.

I'm thinking about using compromise in a little project of mine and wanted to test its boundaries a little so I whipped up a jsbin with v7.0.4:

http://jsbin.com/qegelofaku/3/edit?html,console

Of the random words I chose, compromise seemed to get about 1/6 wrong - but I suppose I was choosing slightly uncommon words on purpose. My question is: Should I wait until v7 is released (is there an ETA?) before judging its accuracy, or is the accuracy that we see in the JSBin to be expected in the official v7 release anyway?

I understand that some compromises have had to be made, so this isn't a critique, I'm just trying to get a sense of how accurate compromise is (or will be) so I can judge whether it's the right fit for my project. Thanks!

hi @josephrocca! thank you! this is really good. Yeah, i should be more up-front about this. 1/6th is a good estimate. I like to think mid-80% is what's good-enough-but-can-be-inproved-on-so-lets-include-it territory. for evaluating parts-of-speech, putting words in a sentence is a more charitable way of evaluating it, as a lot of signals from neighbouring words help-out the interpretation.

and yeah, we're more-or-less in the slow-release process rn. v7 is more accurate than its predecessor, and should be used, but needs some docs and a few days of cleanup still.

hey, fixed a few of these. durian is a ¯_(ツ)_/¯, and soften is a good example, i think, of some adjectives conjugating to verbs - how many of these do you think there are? harden, etc. maybe that's a thing we should do. cheers

Ah of course, I didn't even think about compromise using the surrounding words - silly me. That'll help me with my project. This looks like a good list for the en thing: http://www.engvid.com/english-resource/vocabulary-hack-verbs-ending-with-en/

hey, these all work now, as of v7.0.5 - with the exception of durian. :tada:

You've probably already seen it, but just in case @blakeembrey has any plural rules you missed: pluralize. And also this: http://home.nerbonne.org/A-vs-An/ is really neat. I ran a check on some common nouns and although several are uncountable and a few aren't aren't actually nouns (didn't have time to manually filter them), there's a few amongst them which could be used as starting points to create some new rules. (i just went through a list of nouns and saved the ones where compromise said that plural was the same as the noun itself)
