Support optional tome parameters

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Right now if a parameter exists i believe it's required.

Describe the solution you'd like

• Update the metadata.yml spec to support optional params
• Update the UI to clearly denote when params are optional
• Update the backend to understand optional params

May be better to just implement a default vaule
