Ray license issue
I have 2 Ray licenses. The Spatie website lists my development server on the first license key.
Ray has been working for a while for me on this server. But today it says there's no license registered to this device, and when I try to reactivate the license on this server, nothing happens and it remains in trial mode.
I didn't make any changes to this server that would make it think it was a different device.
What do I need to do so that Ray sees the license?
Same error on my site on Windows 10. Impossible to put again the license Error : "The license server gave an unexpected response, please try again"
From the tests I did, disabling Firewall and Antivirus let Ray communicating with the server but issue is coming back after a few hours or next day.
It will be nice to have the dev answering....
I use it on 1 machine, macOS 13.5.2 (22G91)
the key periodically crashes, an activation window pops up with a new key pre-seted
but since the limit is 2 keys, it cannot be activated.
If i kill the ray process completely and restart it, it works again If I delet one kay from my account - I can activate ray
In my case, I finally uninstalled and reinstalled my Anti-virus (Kaspersky), no more problem. I guess my antivirus was blocking communication with Ray servers somewhere.
Sorry for the late response. We are aware of this issue some users are having with Ray. If you get the error "The license server gave an unexpected response, please try again" after you have initially linked your device to your license and you have to input the license again. Then it might mean that there are too many machines linked to that license, even if they are all the same machine. Somehow your device got unlinked, but the link to your license wasn't deactivated. It's an issue we'll look into, while working on version 3.0. At the moment you will have to remove your device manually on the spatie website. This isn't the experience we want to deliver for Ray. We'll investigate this issue further. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Hello,
in my case the bug repeated itself
Ray Version 2.8.1 (2.8.1)
The MacBook ( Apple Silicon ) did not turn off for a long time.... After a full reboot of my Mac, Ray automatically started with a window to enter a license.
I press the "activate" button without changing the keys... I pressed it several times in a row... and after N presses, I paused (I got tired of pressing) and the activation "applied"...

(Perhaps I started and stopped the update process with my actions... I'm not sure)
After maybe a minute, a window again asks for a key...
Again, I press "activate" about 10 times without changing and regenerating the key... and the program is activated..
Perhaps, during a full reboot, the cache with the saved key verification flag is deleted, and the program tries to recheck it...
