Use as cellular modem

I like to ask if there is the possibility to use the shield as a cellular modem, to provide connectivity, even if it is very slow, just to access services on the web. I am using a board similar to a Raspberry PI, and I'd like to integrate this shield with the board to get internet access via the cellular module, and then, create a bridge between this interface (either via USB or Serial) and the wireless interface wlan0. So, I could set up a Wireless Access Point between cellular interface and WiFi.
