Do we need old-master branch?

There is an old-master branch. Do we need it?

It's a backup of some early efforts in this repo that were going to be very difficult to rebase and were therefore cherry-picked. I'm inclined to say maybe we should make sure it's somewhere e.g. a personal fork but maybe we can lose it in the main repo here? Would be good to check with the original authors of those branches though. I think that's mainly @arfon and @JosieBunnell ?
