In order to move forward with the ticket we have to decide if we are okay with losing some of the lines that were previously in the trailer file. These are mostly printed statements from dependencies that will no longer be captured with the drizzlepac level logger. These are discussed further in HLA-1460.

 

I have uploaded a couple example trailer files for the new and old code with the debug=True argument enabled.

I've come to realize that the reason for the missing lines is that the withLogging class that creates the various subprocess logs (e.g. astrodrizzle.log, astrometry.log) is where those are showing up. 

 

Since this class commandeers the root logger, this has been leading to a lot of the confusion. 

 

The current code also includes the log lines for all ippsoots in a given runastrodriz call in each of their respect log files (e.g. icyj11olq.tra contains the fit information for icyj11omq). Ideally these should only contain the relevant information.
