App version

2.6.33

Where did you get the app from

Google Play

Android version

Android 15

Device model

Pixel 9 Pro XL

First occurred

Always

Steps to reproduce

  1. Setup multiple feeds under one tag
  2. Turn on notifications
  3. Setup as Use Default Browser
  4. Wait for 1 and only 1 article to get posted
  5. Click notification
  6. Notification takes you to the browser and opens website of the article as opposed to the feeder app

Expected behaviour

I would much rather the behavior be the same for any number of unread articles. I would like the click of the notification to always take me to the app and show me the list of unread articles.

Current behaviour

Instead, with only 1 unread article, the app will automatically open that article in the browser.

It opens in the browser only if you have configured the feed to open in the browser by default. This is intended behavior. It respects your setting

But this is different behavior than if you have 2 or more notifications. When you click on a notification with 2 or more unread articles, it opens to your normal feed view where you see all your unread articles. I think my question is if 1 unread notification can open to the normal view just like it does for other notifications. I also think it is possible this behaviour could be causing the issue I am seeing in case #420 that I created. Maybe it could be a setting to customize that behaviour and make 1 unread notification do the same as all others and open the app to the normal feed view? Thanks.

Because if the notification contains 2 articles - which would it open? So in this case it opens the tag/feed that the articles share.

OK yes that makes sense. I guess I just want to be able to make it have the same behavior all the time. Because by far most of the time I have more than 1 unread article and the notification opens to the feed and then all of a sudden (if only 1 notification) it opens an article automatically. I personally find it goes against my normal flow when it opens a page because like 80% of the time I don't even open articles, I just read the title and mark as read. Maybe it could be a setting one day? Regardless, thanks for the amazing app and communication via GitHub.
