Custom channel icons (emojis?)

Some people like to change their channel names to include emojis in the beginning. Maybe this could be a natively supported feature, replacing the # that would show normally? Preferrably, this would render with the same emoji system that's used for chat, if not depending on the operating system to render these since OS support can be limited depending on how you've got it set up.
