OptiFine 1.21.1 HD U J1 is NOT working with Forge 52.0.16

Setup:

Download both Forge 52.0.16 and Optifine. Install Forge extract Optfine to the mods folder launch game crash

Anybody knows a solution?

make sure optifine works on its own first before using it with other mods

The problem was the extract button shouldn't be used at all, personally I had to use the mod as-is: if I extract it I can't use it

I have the same issue, except it worked fine at first and then suddenly stopped working.
