`Index.select` allows ksizes that aren't an integer.

@ccbaumler was running into this in a script, and it took us a bit to figure out why Index.select(ksize="21") was yielding 0 sketches :). (It wasn't as obvious in the actual code, of course).

There are other related issues that I'll go find in a bit.
