Double counting of repositories

Open luka-j opened this issue 5 years ago • 10 comments

I've recently changed my username on GitHub (from luq-0 to luka-j; my Sourcerer is lukaj), and when I fired up Sourcerer to update my repositories, it added them as separate from my old username. GitHub account is still the same, it's only the username that's different.

Also, when I've imported local repositories, it failed to merge them with the ones with the ones I already have up on public GitHub profile. I expected it to compare my existing commits and disregard duplicates, but it went ahead and significantly overestimated all of my stats.

Hi @luka-j

We are working on fix of this problem. I cleaned up your profile from duplicate repos for now.

@anatolystansler thanks for the quick response & temp fix. Looking forward to a permanent solution. Let me know if I can be of any help.

A similar thing happened to me. After importing several of my projects to GitLab from GitHub, they both show up in Sourcerer. I've since closed the repos on GitHub, but they still show up in Sourcerer.

@anatolystansler +1 here I just changed capitalization of my username and ended up with duplicate repositories on my profile.

Hi i've stumbled on this issue too, like i've changed my Github name and then i've sincronized my profile at sourcer.io i've and i've realized all my repositories were fetched again so i ended up having all my repositories duplicated. I guess cache has something to do with that, because i did logout and login and then re-synced my profile and did work. ps: I was quite almost to open an issue, fortunately i've realized someone did it.

In my case, I used the app on my local repos, and then I connected my sourcerer account to my GitHub account. The local app did not add any of the names of the repos, so I had to just guess at which of them are the duplicates. (Of course, what constitutes a "name" of a local repo is not clear.)
