What needs to be improved? Please describe how this affects the user experience and include a screenshot.

Currently, I need to manually move to chat window to a new tab manually. Its a bit annoying, to always have this to do by hand. Also, many people probably dont know, they can do that at all.

Having the chat window as it is now by default, takes a lot of screen real espace. Especially on a notebook can this be limiting.

I like that every new chat windows opens in a new tab by default.
