Speed up mutants' own tests

The test suite is a bit slower than could be ideal.

• [ ] Collect test times, see which ones are slowest
• [ ] Perhaps change some tests from running a cargo mutants subprocess to unit tests
• [ ] Reconsider tests that actually exercise mutants in testdata trees: we need some of these for an e2e test but perhaps there are too many.
