Dragging tabs doesn't work

Open theFireProject opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

This design looks so cool but I wish you could drag and drop tabs to reorder them because I do that everyday. When I try to reorder my tabs, the selected tab is always placed at the very top or bottom (so it becomes the first tab or last tab in the list).

Maybe there's a way to fix this? Ideally so that it behaves the same way it does in standard Firefox.

Thanks for creating such a cool theme.

Well there is a way, it involves user js scripts. But then that the theme becomes a headache for most people.

I would have to make the script, configured for auto-config, or another script loader, then users would have to do the work of putting files in the browsers root directory, then profile directory, possibly modifying the script, etc, etc.

For anyone wanting tab ordering with this theme, albeit keyboard one, check this extension. I know this will not entirely replace mouse dragging, but there is only so much we can do with CSS alone.

I'm just trying this out and found the same issue. Re-arranging tabs is something I do all the time so I'm not sure if I can use it.

I wouldn't mind having the extra steps, but also respect the way you want to keep it simple.

It definitely is the biggest annoyance with the vertical tabs. The thing is, I know it could easily be optional (and preferred) for the more technical people, without causing the 'simple' issue for anyone else.

I know someone else on github made vertical tabs through js and autoconfig, but I'd prefer to learn how to do it (rather remake than copy). I dont know how to though (yet). Still I'd be welcome anyone that wants to contribute and get it out the way.
