Load any LRC file

app is great but the lack of LRC file support bugs me a bit, its not always guarnteed to find the lyrics for some songs I download so I think adding LRC file support would be a huge improvement.

Hey ! The app does support LRC files already, if it doesn't find any lyrics, it means no LRC files were found, mind you, due to permission restrictions, LRC files should have the exact same file name as the audio file, and should be in the same folder

Oh, I see. That's great. But unfortunately, most, if not all of my LRC files don't share the same names as the songs themselves and I prefer keeping them in a different folder. Are there any plans in the future to add a feature that allows us to manually select LRC files per song?

Yes ! Tho it may be limited due to permisions, I'll do my best!

hey @Minuano2993 ! I've been debating whether or not adding this feature for 2 reasons:

  1. LRC files are meant to be sidecar files and this would be counter-intuitive to how they are meant to work (see more here)
  2. After testing, it's been bringing more issues than it fixes

I understand your request and would like to implement to make the app more usable for you, but there's complications with that at the moment so this idea will be put on hold 😞

@sosauce that's alright.

You tried and I respect that because most devs would probably ignore the entire thing if they find it difficult to implement. I am thankful for your work and please don't push yourself too hard. 31473329e8b5ff1b7c7e57bf9624342d.png

Hey @Minuano2993 closing this as not planned, I understand the convience it is to name and organize your LRC files, but they weren't meant to work like that sadly 😞 Blame it's creator 😵

Hey, @sosauce. It's okay, no issues. Though, I would like to mention that another app going by the name of "Lotus" did have the feature I talked about. (You can find it here on GitHub.) Unfortunately, Lotus is now discontinued which is the reason why I switched music players.

Oh, interesting, then I might take a look # into it, next update is almost finished so I'll look into that now ;)
