Thanks. HTTPS works for me. Maybe your server doesn't send the full chain of certs so Android doesn't trust it?

Does it affect bookmarked toots? If the sender accounts are not followed by any local user.

Did you try the button on the right side of the URL input box? This should work, and you will get a content:// URL without the file access permission.
