overlay info for "play" / "streaming" status

One thing that would be helpful (not sure if it's asking too much effort or computational overhead) would be to display text overlay on the local display (that is neither streamed or recorded) that says "recording", "not recording", "streaming", "not streaming", "muted" and "not muted" as appropriate. As for the rest, it should be clear to the user that when the video is not moving that something is wrong. However, if someone checks the laptop and thinks it's streaming / generally working then walks away before anyone goes to the front of the room, the talk could begin. Then when they come back later, they see the video is doing nothing. What they didn't realize was that the video input was either paused or stopped. They didn't notice because earlier on no one was moving in the frame. For this reason, a basic "stopped" and/or "paused" text would be helpful.

I could do that, but I prefer to avoid displaying to much overlayed information. Another way to achieve this would be using a status bar located at the bottom of main window. So that the drawingarea will be kept clean. What do you think? Could you open an issue about it?
