ubuntu studio 20.4 install with snap. Does not run. I recommend compilation
Hi essej, thanks for your work and the attempt to make it easy for Linux users and the number of platforms you support. Since the program, installed with snap, did not work on two different Ubuntu Studio 20.4 systems (one desktop, one laptop) i recommend compiling. In the end that was pretty much easier to compile than the looking for reasons that the snap installation does not work. With the desktop pc the alsa input did not work and there was no choice of the interface (internal or usb-device) On the laptop the program does not even start. It crashes while starting with memory dump. 2nd reason to compile is the choice of jack1 support with the snap package. jack1 is not maintained for years. If one decides to compile sonobus works flawlessly with jack2, with the snap installation it does not of course. Unfortunately even if you start sonobus out of a shell, it gives no hints why it won't work.
Probably i have the same issue. https://github.com/sonosaurus/sonobus/issues/60
I have a personal hate relationship with snap, and I'm willing to maintain a Debian package if people want that.
