two devices under the same Wi-Fi connected using connection server, will the speed be slightly reduced? Is there a direct local connection mode? Is it necessary? I am a beginner.

SonoBus is always peer-to-peer, audio never goes through a server (right now). So devices on the same local network will be sending to each other directly, regardless of the connection server (which just organizes groups and peer addresses). However, wifi is not really recommended, as it will cause jitter buffers to be bigger, and thus latency.
