[Feature Request] Minimize to System Tray (Standalone)
It would be awesome if the Standalone app had the ability to minimize to the System Tray. If possible we could keep the icon off the taskbar and maybe even run the application as a service.
It minimizes fine for me on windows and Mac, what platform are you using? Not sure how to keep applications off a task bar.
What kind of use case do you have that using it as a service would be valuable? Just as a way to keep it running away from the prying fingers of users on the system? With some kind of control panel access instead of the normal UI?
I'm using it on Windows, Mac, and Linux to great effect. It does minimize to the taskbar but having it minimize down to the system tray would just free up screen real estate. It's not a desperately needed thing it would just be convenient.
Having it down here for instance. Or up on the Menu Bar if using Mac OSX
And yeah, having it be a service would be nice for situations like mine where I am planning on having it running 24/7. I'm running multiple servers with audio access required. I do sound design and music composition by trade so I'm looking to be able to access multiple machines from a front end terminal. Combining SonoBus with RustDesk has worked well so far. Just trying to keep Taskbar/Dock icons to a minimum haha
I think the normal UI would be fine, as opposed to making it a control panel UI. Maybe my 'service' idea makes a little less sense. I think I was more thinking "start and reconnect to group" once the user logs in.
I need this too. Right now there's no option to minimize to tray. I'm using SonoBus to broadcast our Church's audio mix so that our team can monitor it remotely. I've got it set to automatically rejoin a channel on startup.
But we need two more options:
- Close to tray (clicking the X minimizes to tray)
- Minimize to tray on startup
