Vortex Cannot Find Path to Any Game

Issue Description
I used the SteamTinkerLaunch GUI to install Vortex. It opens, but it cannot find the path to any game I ask it to manage. The manual selection doesn't have access to /.local to manually select the game folder. I tried going to compatibility in steam and selecting SteamTinkerLaunch then running the game. It ran it with an old version of proton instead of the latest. After exiting, Vortex still cannot find it. I went to the game settings and told it to use the latest GE version of proton, which it did when I launched it again. That didn't change anything. I want to manage Baldur's Gate 3, Oblivion Remastered, Expedition 33, and Skyrim. I backed up all my mods from Windows before switching to Linux.
Also, half the menu items in STL are in some language other than English.
