hey i think steam tinker launch would benfit from adding dlss swapper, it's basicaly a tool to swap the dll files for fsr dlss xess etc to newwer versions and i belive they have a degree of per game custmizations tho idk much. the current way i do this on gentoo is clunky where i run the installer for the game with proton tricks then launch it with steam to then run it and swap the .dll files.

i am not a dev i can code some but not experienced at all and too busy with other projects to do this work my self
I'm not working on this feature or planning to, but it sounds useful. Some details on how this would be integrated into SteamTinkerLaunch could be nice for a future contributor to pick up!
I don't use or endorse Nvidia hardware, and try to avoid upscaling where I can, but it sounds like a nifty project. I would not be opposed to support in SteamTinkerLaunch, but it is not something I plan to pick up in the near future. Anyone is free to pick this up! 🙂

ok uhh first off it's not nvidia spefic i have a amd card, it works for fsr and xess.
the way i would imagine it working is you select dlss swapper on the steam tinker launch menu then it shows you a proton tricks like game select screen then it runs dlss swapper within that wine prefix
I didn't say it was Nvidia-specific, it's more that thye advertise DLSS. I dislike support for Nvidia, but more to the point, I also am not a big fan of upscaling which was my main point on why I was not very interested in integrating support myself.
If this software does not work with Proton, or if there are no straightforward tweaks that could be applied to a prefix to get it to work, SteamTinkerLaunch will not magically make this work. Based on the comment that mentioned, it seems there are compatibility issues?
ahh ok i understand. i was able to get dlss swapper to run under proton and sufucly used it but idk what's changed but even affter a few hours of tinkering i was unable to get the program to launch with out giving an error. i tried on both the current version and the pervious version i used.
