sonic-pi GUI was unable to connect to the Ruby server.

I've bought a new computer (MacBook Pro M2pro). I tried to install Sonic Pi, but I've found this bug. Hope you can help me.

After digging a bit more this seems to be an issue with the Sonoma Mac OS - like #3324

I tried installing it on my wife's mac which is not running Sonoma and on that it works just fine

Same problem here at Sonoma on the M1 processor. On Intel it worked fine.

To temporarily fix this, I was able to run Sonic Pi Intel (On M1Pro) with Rosetta. Until this is fixed, I would suggest using that version.

I did notice, the microphone icon comes up, I wonder if Sonoma is blocking SP and requires some security setting to be switched.

Sorry - there appears to be a compatibility issue with the Apple Silicon release on Sonoma. I have tested recent builds and it does appear to work fine - so we should be good when the next release is out.

Until then, a workaround is to use the Intel build under Rosetta. Let me know if you have any issues with that approach...
