Feature Request: Panel plugins for monitoring system resources
Could you please offer some panel plugins for monitoring system resources like:
- CPU activity (Total/Per Core)
- RAM/SWAP usage
- Network activity (Download/Upload)
- Disk activity (Read/Write)
In my opinion, XFCE has some excelent ones (for inspiration): https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/ =>
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-systemload-plugin
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-netload-plugin
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-diskperf-plugin
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-cpugraph-plugin
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-sensors-plugin
- https://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-hardware-monitor-plugin
Thumbs up but could those maybe be incorporated into Raven instead?
I hope so :)
Hi there ! Just wanted to add that it will be a very nice feature to have :)
Hey there, this is something that's planned for Budgie 11, but indeed in Raven instead of the panel. People are certainly welcome already to implement third-party Budgie applets that expose this functionality.
@JoshStrobl neat ! Thanks ! Side question a little bit off topic but is there any resources, guidelines and examples the community can consult to develop its applet and maybe propose them to the main repo?
EDIT : Found this https://github.com/solus-project/budgie-desktop-examples/tree/master/c_project
https://github.com/fossfreedom/indicator-sysmonitor Can this satisfy your itch for system monitors?
@triorr Python support is likely being dropped in Budgie 11 and the applet hasn't seen changes in 2018. Something new, written in C or Vala, wouldn't hurt.
