Re-ordering the events resets the events to the original order after saving the entry using a Calendar Event input in an Entry Type

What happened?

Using a Calendar Event input in an Entry Type then re-ordering the events resets the events to the original order after saving the entry.

After reordering and saving the entry the events would stay in their reordered position.

How can we reproduce this?

  1. Create a Section with an Entry Type
  2. Create an input using the Solspace Calendar Events Input
  3. Add the input to the Section Entry Type
  4. Create an Entry add events to the Events Input
  5. After saving the entry try to reorder the events and save

I'm very sorry about this @azim1728, but it's a current limitation of Calendar. We do have plans in the future to rewrite many parts of Calendar that will make it play nicer with Craft features. 🙂

@kjmartens No worries at all, thanks for the update! Appreciate the transparency—and looking forward to the improvements in the future version. Let me know if there's any recommended workaround in the meantime.

Also I don't see any option to remove the selected events, so that I can rearrange them in the correct order by removing them and re-selecting in proper order.

Hi @kjmartens, Just checking in to see if there are any updates on the issue. At the moment, I'm unable to remove outdated events from the pages, and the site is getting overloaded with old content. I hope you can understand how challenging and a bit embarrassing this situation is. Appreciate any help you can provide!

Sorry about this @azim1728,

I will have a developer check into this shortly. There definitely needs to be a way to at least remove Calendar events from the field. 🙂

Thanks, @kjmartens — really appreciate you looking into it. A way to remove events would definitely help a lot for now. Let me know if you need anything from my side. 🙂
