Novalogic's Delta Force 2, DFLW, and DFTFD IPX connection issues

Hello, back in windows 98, playing the Novalogic games delta force 2, delta force land warrior, and delta force task force dagger was quick and easy in Lan by using the ipx lan server option.

When windows xp came along, a ipx lan server may be visible, but the joining process may take at least 20 to 30 minutes to join a co-op mission, rather than a few seconds like it used to be able to do.

In windows 7, 8, and 10, ipx wrapper is necessary inorder to even see (and host) the ipx lan server to join, however, the joining process can take least 20 minutes...

I've curious to know why since windows xp, joining via ipx protocol for these three games now takes a millennium compared to the windows 98 days.

That's curious... when you say it takes 20-30minutes to join on Windows XP, is that using IPXWrapper, or using the native Windows IPX driver?

DF2 seemed to perform reasonably when I tested it in the past (quite a few years ago now though).

Both, Sir. I've tried both ways.

I've tried both ways, sir. Using windows xp's ipx protocol, and trying with ipx wrapper. Something strange about those particular games ever since upgrading to windows xp and greater.

Try with two separate computers windows xps or greater. Have one host a co-operative mission (such as df2's "cold front" or dflw's "monument") trying connect via the ipx/lan server tab in-game under multiplayer options. (Try other co-op maps) Ctf or tdm seem to take a shorter time to load when joining around 3 to 10 minutes, while co-op took around 15-30 minutes.

Hi @noddynod443, maybe you can try with a fresh install of Windows XP (for discarding any procress you may have interfering on it), and also with a different network adapter (for discarding a network driver problem)
