Pantheon terminal transparency doesn't work

Open PascalTemel opened this issue 8 years ago • 5 comments

I'm trying to change my terminal's opacity in elementaryOS freya and it doesn't seem to work. Setting the opacity to 100 makes the background more gray-ish, setting it to 0 makes it completely black, but there's no transparency whatsoever. image

On a side note, my opened app launcher (and any element in the top bar) has a white background highlighting while it's opened, is this intended? It looks weird to me. screenshot from 2016-04-22 18 11 01

I'm running elementaryOS freya on a Toshiba Chromebook 2 (therefore Intel HD graphics), but the same issues appear on my workstation which has a NVIDIA Quadro card.

Ubuntu 14.04 (and therefore elementary OS Freya) may not have a recent enough version of GTK for some of Paper. I'll have to investigate this

@snwh I see, that's too bad.

I'm having the same problem here. I suppose it's the GTK version of Freya? If it is, will work on Loki, the new version of elementary OS? (Ubuntu 16.04)

@henriquearthur @snwh I can confirm that in Loki, it is not transparent.
