Roblox crashing when MacType is running (Service mode)
I am unable to open Roblox while MacType is running in service mode. It keeps crashing and will only work once I disable the MacType service from the task manager.
The same also happens when using MacTray in standalone mode. I think this is a Roblox problem due to their Byfron Anti-cheat but I'm bringing this up here in hopes of a possible fix or workaround.
Same issue here, was wondering what happened to roblox or to my computer, seems like we need to exclude roblox from mactype for the time being
Does it only happen when in service mode?
Also happens when using standalone mode.
My bad on wrongly closing the issue. Anyways, after some digging around, a lot of users are suspecting that it's related to Roblox's new anti-cheat system, Byfrost and that MacType is getting flagged as suspicious.
They must have learned something from Tencent...
If that's the case, you have to exclude it from mactype by adding the executes to the unload section.
Thank you for this! I ran MacType as a standalone app, excluded Roblox, and brought it back to service mode. I don't know if that's intended or just pure luck, but Roblox is not crashing anymore. Thanks again!
I was very recently noticed that Microsoft has made detours completely opensource and free (it was commercial when mactype was born). I was wondering if migrating back to detours can make mactype more stable and solve some long-standing problems.

大佬好,我之前用过一些explorer改mica化的插件,使用detours 比easyhook, minihook等都要稳定,不会崩溃

I currently use Mica for Everyone which also uses Detours. It's very stable, and if MacType ever goes in that direction, I would fully support it. I don't have any prior knowledge as to how it can help but if you believe it can solve a lot of the long-standing problems, then it's worth a shot.
Mactype was initially built on detours, and during these years of development, I intentionally kept code-level compatibility with the detours lib, so it shouldn't be too big a problem to regress back to detours.
