Windows Update KB5028185 seems to disable MacType

At least on my PC, after installing the 2023-07 update MacType still runs but has no visible effect. I tried uninstalling the update and MacType worked again, then reinstalled the update and it stopped working again.

Please upgrade to the latest version "2023.5.31" and if the problem persists, upload a screenshot. Thanks.

Perhaps this update changed the default render method (GDI) to DirectWrite:

As I showed, lots of system components switched to DirectWrite, e.g., taskmgr.exe.
