Browsers not changing their font rendering

Open TheGitMpeg opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

Hello, I want a response because I realize that after enabling MacType as tray, browsers' text rendering don't change. Examples: Edge (a part of a site): image Firefox (a part of a site): image Some classic apps (they render sucessfully except in the title bar): image UWP (Font rendering with MacType doesn't work, instead it uses Windows' default antialiasing, in this case I'm using Paint 3D): image Classic apps (some of them can render successfully with MacType, such as Paint): image Office 2019 (UI with MacType text rendering only in rare cases, but while working it works with MacType, NOT in WORD while writing a document): image image

Sorry if I'm using the system in Spanish, Again, I need a response to find how to solve the problem without changing registry please. Thanks for your response!

Mactype must be started before browsers or any other apps using directWrite.

Sometimes mactype has to be ran with administrator privileges.

And there is a known issue with most UWP apps. They are created using undocumented method so that MacType can't hook into them in time.

Thank you for answering my question! What can I do to apply MacType in all items of my system without using it in registry mode?

You're welcome to use the service mode. Be sure to use the latest internal test version. It has an important service mode bug fix.

However, nothing except registry mode works well with UWP so far.

You can run chrome based browsers with the argument ---disable-features=RendererCodeIntegrity (and modify the shortcuts to the browser in the start menu to make it sort of permanent).

Would the latest version be the v1.2022.801.0 preview published on Jul 31, 2022?
