Windows 11 mactype prevents starting executables, and breaks the OS in service mode

Any Installers , battle.net launcher etc. won't work when mactype is enabled. After disabling mactype everything works fine.

edit: Using mactype in service mode pretty much breaks the whole OS all together. Luckily I was able to at least start msconfig to be able to start windows in safemode and uninstall mactype.

@AAAAaaa-ship-it Why don't try to install a later version of MacType? You can also try to download a new EasyHook.

Which OS version are you using? Mactype does break some applications for sure, but it can be all of them.

i have the exact same issue, took me a while to troubleshoot and idenfied its the mactype problem.

i am using 2019 old verison, still breaks the whole OS, using win11 insider preview

Don't use 2019 version, it's incompatible with new CPUs when running Windows 10 (win7 is fine)

Same issue. Mactype breaks cmd/powershell somehow and makes win apps extreme lagging, sometimes not executable (e.g. microsoft edge). OS ver: Windows 11 22H2

@snowie2000 — Hi Snowie! Do you plan on releasing an installer for the v1.2022.801.0 preview? I was thinking that it would probably make it easier for folks to transition from the 2019 version to the newer one. As I recall I had a few issues getting the newer version installed correctly myself. However, once installed, it's the best MacType ever! Stable, seamless, works in all but just a couple UI environments, and is a joy to use! And I love the new updated VisTuner for tweaking the INI settings. 😊
